Students of Gorgan University have received order of probation for defending human rights.
Let’s defend them through our protests
As per our announcement of May 17th, students of Gorgan University were put on probation while protesting against university’s regulations concerning Islamic Hijab. They held a sit-in-strike at the university and announced that this is clear and overt violation of individual liberties and the most primitive human rights. They asked for nullification of such regulations and demanded that the Dean of the University presents at their meeting and answers their concerns and questions. To confront these protests, university’s authorities called on 15 students to present themselves to the disciplinary committee and issued probation orders for Mana Taban (Mathematics student), Mohsen (Persian literature student) and Ehsan Mohajer (student).
To repress student’s protests and to silence student activists, university authorities have taken advantage of summer vacations to issue orders of the disciplinary committee. Students need to stand up unanimously against these orders and against repressive organizations like the disciplinary committees, “security”, Islamic student organizations like Bassij and the Leader organization at university and should ask the idling of these tools of governmental oppression in universities. With the start of the new school year protests against student oppression should start again with full strength and in all universities.
The Communist Youth Organization condemns all the orders issued against Gorgan students and invites all students to support Gorgan’s students. Any order against any student issued from any university should face extensive and powerful protests of students of all universities.
